Resumption of service…

I just realized it’s been quite a while since I last blogged; a huge disappointment for a bunch of you I’m sure. Let me recap some of the events of the last 2 months that have kept me away from blogging:

  • Made three trips to Lebanon in a span of 5 weeks including a full 2 week stay. How pleasant would Lebanon be without the Lebanese?
  • Played 68,688 hands of online poker equivalent to around 170 hours of play. Needless to mention, I lost quite a bit of money along the way.
  • Took an interest in investment banking and read two accounts about the last credit crunch. “A Colossal failure of Common Sense” by Lawrence G. McDonald & Patrick Robinson and “House of Cards” by William Cohen; both are highly recommended reads for anyone interested in learning about the creative follies of Wall Street Bankers that got the world financial system to the brink of collapse.
  • Left the GCC for good and moved all the way to the Bible Belt. Yup, I just can’t seem to stay far away from religious kooks.
  • Met a wonderful girl in Lebanon - let’s just call her Ariana – who blew my mind away. Ariana reads this blog so I will not reveal much except that it was she – not online poker, reading, traveling, or moving - that bears most of the responsibility for my past (and probably all future) online absenteeism.

Okay, enough said; now that I’m on the other end of the world and away from Ariana’s velvet clutches I can resume full service.
